STUDENT NEWS
CAST TESTING - 8th-grade students will take their state tests in science on April 15th, during their science classes. Last year, our students doubled the state average for those meeting and exceeding standards. All students will begin state testing for English and Math on April 22nd. We look forward to seeing our students improve this year.
Homework Club - Homework club will be canceled on April 7th, and will resume on April 9th. Thank you!

Book Fair Helpers Needed!! - We’re excited to announce that our school will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair,
which starts May 11th and ends May 15th. Open each day from 7:30am-4pm (open until 6:30pm for Open House on May13th) at Marina Village Library.
This is the first time we have had a book fair at our school in years so students are very excited but we need volunteers to make it happen. Your help is crucial in making the Fair a truly unforgettable experience for our children. We hope you’ll consider offering your time
and talents to get it running!

Incoming Sixth Grade Parent Night - On April 13th, Marina will be hosting an incoming sixth-grade parent night over Zoom at 6:00 PM. A flyer with the Zoom link has been sent to our elementary schools. Please contact your teacher for the information.

The Art club meets on Fridays from 2:15 to 3:15 in room 32. The club will begin on September 12th and each session is limited to 15 students. There will be four sessions this year and students may sign up in the office.

Honor Society
Honor Society - Honor Society is beginning! Marina Village Honor Society focuses on character, leadership, service, and scholarship. Members will meet at school 1-2 times a month during lunch to work on projects that benefit our community. There will also be opportunities for fun! To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:
be in 8th Grade during the 2025-26 school year
earned a 4.0 GPA during the third trimester of 7th Grade (B in advanced math is OK)
Teachers agree that you demonstrate positive character traits in class.
If you would like to be considered for membership in the Marina Village Honor Society, please fill out this form by August 22nd: Honor Society application

The Redwood Institute of Social Research (RISR), the El Dorado County Commission for Youth and Families, First 5 El Dorado, and the Early Care & Education Planning Council (LPC) at EDCOE invite parents and caregivers of children ages 0–12 to complete a brief survey about your experiences with childcare—including infant care, preschool, transitional kindergarten (TK), before/after‑school programs, and vacation care.
