STUDENT NEWS
Mister Brown Presentation - On Friday, September 12th, all students will have the opportunity to participate in an assembly with a motivational speaker named Mister Brown. He will discuss the power and importance of making good choices. See the video below to see one of his life lesson videos.
Student Council Elections - All students will be asked to vote for their student council representatives during their history class on Monday, September 8th.
Vision Testing - Dr. Hoffman will be on campus for 8th-grade vision screenings on Monday, September 8th. 8th-grade students will be screened during their science classes
Homework Club - The Homework Club has begun! Need a quiet place to do homework, make up a test, catch up on classwork or get extra help from a teacher? This is for you! Homework Club is open from 2:15-3:15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mrs. Lafrinire's classroom, room #6. Drop in one day a week, or both days to excel in your classes.
Theater Club - The Theater Clubs will begin on September 11th. We are looking for actors and stage/tech students to participate in our fall and spring productions. See the flyer below for more information!

Students need one athletic packet per year for sports. Completed packets must be turned in no later than noon on the first tryout day. Packets will not be accepted after 12:00 PM on tryout days. There are no exceptions.

PARENTS
Jupiter Grades - The best way to keep up with your students' grades and communication with teachers is with Jupiter Grades. Make sure that you have logged on so that you can set up how frequently you would like information emailed about missing work or progress in classes. If you need help getting onto Jupiter Grades, contact one of your student's teachers or the office.
Handicap Parking Spaces - As a reminder, handicap parking spaces are for those with a handicap placard in their car or on their license plate only. Please do not park in those spaces unless you are authorized to do so.
PTC Message - Visit our PTC website at www.marinavillagemiddleschool.org and CLICK HERE for Spirit Wear. Every dollar helps us give our kids and teachers what they truly need this year. Based on your feedback so far through the PTC Parent Survey (add your votes if you haven’t already), we’re aiming for the top three areas below:
Essential classroom supplies for every teacher
New science equipment for discovery
New shade structures for our kids’ outdoor lunches

The Art club meets on Fridays from 2:15 to 3:15 in room 32. The club will begin on September 12th and each session is limited to 15 students. There will be four sessions this year and students may sign up in the office.

Honor Society
Honor Society - Honor Society is beginning! Marina Village Honor Society focuses on character, leadership, service, and scholarship. Members will meet at school 1-2 times a month during lunch to work on projects that benefit our community. There will also be opportunities for fun! To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:
be in 8th Grade during the 2025-26 school year
earned a 4.0 GPA during the third trimester of 7th Grade (B in advanced math is OK)
Teachers agree that you demonstrate positive character traits in class.

Garden Club is back this year with a new name, One Green Step, and is running during lunches! Ms. Gina is running it we are excited to continue having our students work on the beautification and functionality of our garden. Come and join us in creating this beautiful space!

DAR is hosting a contest (in categories of art, creative expression, and community service) for boys & girls in grades Pre-K through 12th grade!
This year's theme is:
“Celebrating 250 years of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness: Happy Birthday, America! 1776-2026!”
Please spread the word to the students and families at your school! The submission deadline is 9/19/25.
The awards ceremony & display will be at the farmers market in EDH on October 5th. (Where the MVMS Jazz Band will also be performing!)
