Minimum Day - There will be a minimum day on Nov. 19th. Students will be released at 11:50 AM.

SAGE Map Contest - In honor of National Geography Awareness Week, this contest was introduced to promote a better understanding of the importance of geography in our world and to encourage the creative talents of the youth in our community. For information about how you can compete: CLICK HERE.

Students need one athletic packet per year for sports. Completed packets must be turned in no later than noon on the first tryout day. Packets will not be accepted after 12:00 PM on tryout days. There are no exceptions.

PARENTS
MVMS PTC Movie Night – Friday, November 21st! Join us for a special showing of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse — the award-winning animated adventure that middle schoolers (and parents!) love. Bring your friends, pillows and blankets, and school spirit — and enjoy concessions for sale including pizza, popcorn, candy, and drinks. All proceeds benefit MVMS programs and student activities, and will immediately support the purchase of new 7th-grade science microscopes and shade structures for our kids at lunch.
Admission: Free for all MVMS students and families! Concession sales directly support the PTC for our kids — so come hungry and ready for fun! Swing into action on Friday, November 21 at 5:30 PM and enjoy an evening of heroes, laughs, and community. The movie will begin promptly at 6 pm!
Feature Film: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (PG)
Time: 5:30 – 7:45 PM

Art Workshop
The Art club meets on Fridays from 2:15 to 3:15 in room 32. The club will begin on September 12th and each session is limited to 15 students. There will be four sessions this year and students may sign up in the office.

Honor Society
Honor Society - Honor Society is beginning! Marina Village Honor Society focuses on character, leadership, service, and scholarship. Members will meet at school 1-2 times a month during lunch to work on projects that benefit our community. There will also be opportunities for fun! To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:
be in 8th Grade during the 2025-26 school year
earned a 4.0 GPA during the third trimester of 7th Grade (B in advanced math is OK)
Teachers agree that you demonstrate positive character traits in class.

Garden Club is back this year with a new name, One Green Step, and is running during lunches! Ms. Gina is running it we are excited to continue having our students work on the beautification and functionality of our garden. Come and join us in creating this beautiful space!

Service Opportunity - Join us to help plant more trees at Cummings Family Skate and Bike Park! Participants will receive a short, hands-on training on site. After learning the tools and techniques, participants will split up into groups and begin planting trees throughout the site.
Register now! The week before this event, we will send a logistics and directions email with detailed information about how to get to the site. You will receive this email ONLY if you are signed-up for this planting. Click on the flyer for more information or CLICK HERE.

SOLAR PROJECT
Shaded areas will be blocked to all traffic. The hashed area will only be open most of the day, but will occasionally need to be closed due to some construction work.
Shoe Drive - Grown out of your shoes? Let’s see how many gently used pairs we can collect between now and Thanksgiving break with a goal of 100 bags! Donated shoes will be sent to developing countries where small business owners can sell them to support their families and grow their communities. Bring shoes to your first period class, and Honor Society will take care of the rest! The class that collects the most shoes will earn an amazing prize! See the flyer below for more information!
