STUDENT NEWS
Battle of the Books - Last Friday, our students competed against a number of other middle schools in the Battle of the Books Competition. 6th and 7th grade both won 1st place for their grade level, and 8th grade won 3rd place. The 7th grade won the overall championship and will be moving on to the countywide competition. GO MUSTANGS!
Oral Interpretation - Wednesday, March 25th, is the annual Oral Interpretation competition. Good luck, Mustangs!!
Spring Break - Spring Break will be March 30th through April 3. School will not be in session.
Art Club Session 4 - The fourth session of the art club is about to begin. See the flyer below and sign up in the front office!

Art Workshop
The Art club meets on Fridays from 2:15 to 3:15 in room 32. The club will begin on September 12th and each session is limited to 15 students. There will be four sessions this year and students may sign up in the office.

Chess Club - Make your move and join Chess Club! Learn about and play chess on Thursdays, from 2:15 to 3:15 in room 27.

Honor Society
Honor Society - Honor Society is beginning! Marina Village Honor Society focuses on character, leadership, service, and scholarship. Members will meet at school 1-2 times a month during lunch to work on projects that benefit our community. There will also be opportunities for fun! To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:
be in 8th Grade during the 2025-26 school year
earned a 4.0 GPA during the third trimester of 7th Grade (B in advanced math is OK)
Teachers agree that you demonstrate positive character traits in class.
If you would like to be considered for membership in the Marina Village Honor Society, please fill out this form by August 22nd: Honor Society application

Garden Club is back this year with a new name, One Green Step, and is running during lunches! Ms. Gina is running it we are excited to continue having our students work on the beautification and functionality of our garden. Come and join us in creating this beautiful space!

Spring Enrichment Class Registration is Now Open! - Sign up your student for an after-school enrichment experience. Marina Village Middle School has some of the best enrichment classes in El Dorado Hills. These classes are high-quality, engaging, fun classes that students can't wait to join again and again. The MVMS PTC online auction fundraiser is live through March 31st! We are adding new options weekly, featuring a great mix of donations for parents and families. We’re incredibly grateful to our local businesses for their generous contributions in support of our school, students, teachers, and families.

The Redwood Institute of Social Research (RISR), the El Dorado County Commission for Youth and Families, First 5 El Dorado, and the Early Care & Education Planning Council (LPC) at EDCOE invite parents and caregivers of children ages 0–12 to complete a brief survey about your experiences with childcare—including infant care, preschool, transitional kindergarten (TK), before/after‑school programs, and vacation care.
