Shoe Drive Results - Congratulations Marina on an amazing shoe drive!! The first period winner is Mrs. Merrill's class. You collected 232 pairs of shoes! As a school, we collected 60 bags, that's 1500 pairs, which means more shoes for the 600 million people around the world who need them. Environmentally, 23,025 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions were avoided and 384,000 gallons of water were saved by recycling these used shoes. Great work and GO MUSTANGS!

Pearl Harbor Day - December 7th is Pearl Harbor Day. On this day, Americans to pause and remember the lives lost and the courage shown during the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. This observance honors the service members and civilians who were killed or injured, as well as the resilience that followed in the days and years after. To hear President Roosevelt's speech to Congress announcing the attack on Pearl Harbor, check out the video below.

Students need one athletic packet per year for sports. Completed packets must be turned in no later than noon on the first tryout day. Packets will not be accepted after 12:00 PM on tryout days. There are no exceptions.

SOLAR PROJECT UPDATE
Solar Project - Hello Families! When you next see the parking lot, you will notice that the construction fences have come down. The parking spaces will be available for use beginning on Monday. Note that the work is not complete, and work crews will still need to block off specific sections of the lot at various times to continue the installation. However, most of the parking spaces should be available daily from here on out. Thank you for your patience as we have worked through this project.
Upcoming Enrichment Classes - Sign up your student for an after-school enrichment experience. Marina Village Middle School has some of the best enrichment classes in El Dorado Hills. These classes are high-quality, engaging, fun classes that students can't wait to join again and again. Get your spot in one of these popular classes!!

The Art club meets on Fridays from 2:15 to 3:15 in room 32. The club will begin on September 12th and each session is limited to 15 students. There will be four sessions this year and students may sign up in the office.

Honor Society
Honor Society - Honor Society is beginning! Marina Village Honor Society focuses on character, leadership, service, and scholarship. Members will meet at school 1-2 times a month during lunch to work on projects that benefit our community. There will also be opportunities for fun! To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:
be in 8th Grade during the 2025-26 school year
earned a 4.0 GPA during the third trimester of 7th Grade (B in advanced math is OK)
Teachers agree that you demonstrate positive character traits in class.

Garden Club is back this year with a new name, One Green Step, and is running during lunches! Ms. Gina is running it we are excited to continue having our students work on the beautification and functionality of our garden. Come and join us in creating this beautiful space!

Ongoing Items
EDUHSD Open Enrollment - The El Dorado Union High School District is offering a Limited Open Enrollment to El Dorado High School, Ponderosa High School and Union Mine High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The limited open enrollment is open to incoming 9th graders who would like to attend El Dorado High School, Ponderosa High School, or Union Mine High School but who do not reside in the school’s attendance boundary. The El Dorado Union High School District will accept Limited Open Enrollment Applications beginning Monday, December 1, 2025. The deadline is Friday, January 30, 2026 at 4:00 pm.
