9/17 Constitution Day Ceremony - September 17th is the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the United States. We will hold an assembly during first period to learn about the purpose, meaning, and importance of the Constitution of the United States, including the Bill of Rights.
Food Deliveries - As a reminder and per the student handbook "Food may not be delivered to students by a meal delivery service (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc.). Deliveries will not be accepted, nor forwarded to students."
School Fundraiser! - Join us to raise funds for school events and activities. Every dollar raised goes to student campus improvements and activities put on by our ASB class. REGISTER HERE!
Pull Tab Fundraiser! - Did you know the most valuable part of a tin can is the pull tab? The Sacramento Ronald McDonald House uses the money from recycling pull tabs to pay for necessities like water, heat, and electricity. Envelopes are in all teachers' classrooms. Honor Society students will be coming around weekly to collect. Let's see how many pull tabs we can collect once again this school year! See the flyer below.

Students need one athletic packet per year for sports. Completed packets must be turned in no later than noon on the first tryout day. Packets will not be accepted after 12:00 PM on tryout days. There are no exceptions.

PARENTS
Set up Jupiter - Marina Village Middle School uses the Jupiter web app to help parents stay connected and informed about their student's academic progress. By setting up a parent account at login.JupiterEd.com, you can view real-time grades, check assignment feedback, log behavior updates, and message teachers directly. Getting started takes just a few minutes using your student's details and the temporary password provided by the school. Be sure to update your contact settings to receive automatic weekly notifications, and reach out to the Student Services Office if you need login assistance. If you haven't set up your account yet, getting started takes just a few minutes:
Go to login.JupiterEd.com.
Click on the Parent tab.
Enter your student's Name, your temporary Password (provided by the school), School (Marina Village Middle School), City (El Dorado Hills), and State (California).
When prompted, create your own permanent password and enter your primary email address.

Chess Club
Chess Club - Chess club is held in room 27, from 2:15-3:15 PM on Thursdays. Come and join in the fun!
Choir Club
Session 1 of the Choir Club begins, Wednesday, 8/26 from 1:15-2:15 in the MP room. This session will end on 9/30. To sign up, email Gina Fellows at sing.to.gina@gmail.com
Drama Club
Students interested in joining and participating in the fall session of Drama Club, there is an informational meeting for students on Tuesday, September 8th in Room 13. It will be 2:30-3:00. Audition applications will be handed out at that time. Auditions for the fall performance will be on Thursday September 10th, 2:30-4:30, in Room 13. Audition applications will be due at your audition. Drama Club is open to all students and acting levels! Please see or email Ms. Oliver with any questions.
Honor Society
Honor Society - The 2026-2027 Honor Society has formed! If you are an 8th grader and want to grow in the four pillars of Honor Society (character, leadership, service, and academics), then you should apply. Honor Society is like leadership for the larger community, including having Lake Forest kindergarten buddies. Honor Society is no longer taking applications.
Hands4Hope
Hands4Hope - Joining Marina Village Hands4Hope Club is a great way to make a difference, build leadership skills, and connect with other students who care about their community! Club members work together to identify local needs, plan and lead service-learning projects, volunteer in the community, and develop skills they can use now and in the future. Whether you’re passionate about helping others, looking for leadership opportunities, or simply want to get involved, there’s a place for you at Hands4Hope! Our info meeting is September 2nd after school (1:10-2:00) in room 2! Join us to learn more!

7th Grade Movie Making Club
Marina has a new Film Club starting! Founded by Zoe Stamos, this club meets every Thursday during seventh grade lunch. Activities include filming, group planning, drawing, editing, and composing soundtracks.
One Green Step (Garden Club)
Garden Club is back this year with a new name, One Green Step, and is running during lunches! Ms. Gina is running it we are excited to continue having our students work on the beautification and functionality of our garden. Come and join us in creating this beautiful space!

With students back at school and the cooler weather this week, we are excited to announce the 2026 EDCOE Coat Drive is officially underway!
Over recent years, we’ve seen an increase in requests and have worked hard to ensure every need is met. Our program is made possible by the generosity of our community partners and others who donate funds for this effort. Enrichment is Back! - Our PTC sponsored Enrichment program is back for the new year. Students are able to purhcase classes from a menu of fun and exciting options. Support Our Students Fundraiser! ($0$) - We’ve kicked off our annual MVMS PTC fundraiser with a goal of $40,000, and every dollar earned stays right here at Marina! Your support helps fund classroom resources, student enrichment, and campus activities and programs throughout the school year. And there’s a little friendly competition: the 7th period class with the highest participation wins a pizza lunch!

Foothill Girls Softball League – Spring Registration Opens Sept 15! Registration for the Spring season opens September 15th and runs through December 31st! Foothill Girls Softball welcomes players ages 5+ (beginner to experienced) across El Dorado County. Come learn the game, make friends, and have fun!
