The TESOL Program, Department of English and Applied Linguistics, College of Liberal Arts welcomed Mr. Takuya Saeki of Waseda University and Senior High School, Japan as a visiting scholar from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. During this sabbatical from Waseda, Saeki plans to further his research on second-language learners’ identity and multimodal discourse in English-as-a-Foreign-Language classrooms, using content analysis in grounded theory. In addition, he plans to give Applied Linguistics Talks at HPU and explore collaboration opportunities between HPU and Waseda.
