Arjun's Petting Zoo is the most popular zoo in San Diego and is recognized as one of the most refine zoo's in the country (U.S.). We started our zoo in 2006, and we began various foundations and animal extinction prevention organizations. In 2007, the zoo received an average number of 200-300 visitors a month. The zoo was still small and hadn't become "official' yet and stayed as a small organization. In 2008, we received various donations and launched our first official zoo. The zoo took place in San Diego and grew more popular over the years. As more years passed, in 2014 we received the award of Best Zoo in California and we were recognized as one of the 15 most popular zoos in the country. After receiving this award, we began to implement more technology to our zoo and added various activities to engage not only enthusiasts (mostly kids), but also other people who are coming to the zoo (usually parents). In 2019, the zoo had a decline in population. Due to quarantine, when COVID 19 was active, we were rapidly losing customers. Eventually, the zoo almost went out of business in late 2020. However, once social distancing had stopped we started to get back in business. We recovered to a point where we began to increase more than we did in 2016, our peak. Eventually as the zoo became more popular, we received the Audubon Award of Excellence and were amongst the top 10 zoos recognized in the country. Now, in 2024 our popularity exponentially increases. Our current popularity is estimated to be around 1.7 million visitors a year, being recognized as the second most popular zoo in the United States.
