Aaliyah Gales Today:

Aaliyah Gayles has made a remarkable return to basketball with the USC Trojans. After surviving multiple gunshot wounds in April 2022, she underwent extensive rehabilitation and rejoined the team in November 2023. Her comeback was met with a standing ovation as she donned the USC jersey for the first time.

In recognition of her resilience, Gayles received the CalHOPE Courage Award in November 2024.

She also earned the 2024 College Women Sports Awards Inspiration Award.

Her journey has been featured in an ESPN E60 documentary titled "Only the Strong Survive," highlighting her determination to overcome adversity and return to the court.

As of December 2024, Gayles continues to be an integral part of the USC women's basketball team, contributing both on and off the court. Her story serves as an inspiration to many, exemplifying perseverance and dedication in the face of significant challenges.
