As a local-authority run primary school, we follow the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence. There are 8 curriculum areas and the aim is to provide children with a broad and balanced curriculum. More information is available here.
Yes, technology is one of the 8 curriculum areas and so children learn about and through technology. This includes programmable toys, laptops, tablets, cameras, gadgets and other equipment. We have subscriptions to a number of online platforms including Purple Mash and Education City and use these to create tailored programmes for children.
We provide access to tablets and laptops during Discovery Time (free-choice) amongst a wide range of other materials and learning opportunities, including play and active learning.
Yes, we are connected to the Moray Council's internet system via wifi.
Yes, we are a Gold Level Rights Respecting School with UNICEF and as such, the children learn about and consider other children around the world, including in areas of conflict. One of our school aims is 'empowered' so that they know they can and act as though then can make a difference.
