In September 2024, a new bus route was launched courtesy of the Finderne Development Trust. With a lot of input from our Parent Council, the new bus route includes a drop off/pick up at Logie Primary School.
Please see the documents below for further information and a bus timetable.
The Register
The chance discovery of the Admission Register at Logie Primary School, listing the name of every child who entered the school between 1881 and 1979, inspired a search for the stories behind some of the names.
Our school administrator at the time, Moira Dennis, set out to speak to former pupils whose names were on the register, and met others whose ancestors’ names were listed in its pages. The tales they told reflect the evolution of the rural community around the school, whose classrooms used to be filled by children from the farms, crofts and estates just a few miles around. These memories chart changes in healthcare and education, in the role of women at home and in employment, in transport, travel and farming, in attitudes to children born outside marriage and in personal ambitions.
With photographs by Paul Heartfield, a professional photographer whose daughter was a Logie Primary pupil, and a full reproduction of the lists of names themselves, The Register is a celebration of our school’s past and the people who shaped the community around it.
Please get in touch if you have a story of your own (or your ancestors) to tell!
