What is the practice schedule for the 2022-2023 season?

Our weekly practice schedule is as follows: 

Mondays 6~8 pm ONLINE

Wednesdays 6~8 pm ON CAMPUS

What is the audition process like this year?

Auditions are in the form of a short monologue/ argument/ acting performance and last 5-10 minutes per person.

Auditions are 9/27 - 9/28.

We encourage all interested students to join us at our informational meetings (9/12 @ lunch, 9/13 after school) and audition workshops (9/19 @ lunch, 9/21 after school) for audition help!

Our coaches and team veterans are willing to offer help- come to our audition workshops to ask questions and prepare for your audition!

Audition materials are different for each role on the team. They will be distributed at our 9/19 lunch meeting.

What are competitions like?

Every season, we compete in the Santa Clara County tournament, which includes 20+ teams and takes place at the Superior Court of Santa Clara County. Based on match-ups, our prosecution or defense team competes against another school's prosecution or defense team. The competition simulates a real courtroom experience with practicing judges overseeing the trial and attorney volunteers coring each round.  The winners of the county competition advance to the state competition and compete against the top Mock Trial teams across California.

How successful is Prospect Mock Trial?

Prospect Mock Trial has a team culture that is grounded in friendship and hard work. We consistently make it to playoff rounds in the county competition. We are 7x County Champions and ranked 8th in California. 

Are you willing to teach somebody new?

Absolutely! We have new members with little to no experience every year. 

If I receive a role on the team, will I remain with that role for the rest of the year?

Yes. Your role at the beginning of the year will remain static for the rest of the season. 

(Note: In some scenarios in which people are missing, there are opportunities for a team member to substitute. We expect all members to be at all competitions!)
