D2L

D2L (or Desire2Learn) is where course spaces exist on the internet. Your classes each have their own space in D2L.

Here is a basic video introduction to D2L.

On the D2L My Home screen, you'll see a notecard. (You may need to scroll down a bit.) Click it, and you will arrive at a list of tutorials for the basic things you need to do in D2L: find course readings, hand in assignments, participate in online discussions, maybe take a quiz, and so on.

Below this, you will also find other helpful resources including a link to the Andrew L. Bouwhuis Library if you need help with research or want to look for a book.

Each of your professors uses D2L differently, but there are common elements across courses. Files and links to web content for the class are in the Content area. Many professors use the D2L grades tool, and in those classes you'll see grades listed according to the syllabus grade breakdown, in the Grades area.

In many classes, assignments are collected in Dropboxes, which appear in their own area but may also be in the content area.

Some professors use online message-board Discussions or Quizzes within D2L.

In this D2L class space, the bar close to the top has navigation links to the common areas in D2L. If courses use D2L at all, there will likely be files or links in the Content area.
