Birds on the Niagara Keynote Address, Loving by Nature with Corina Newsome
The diverse ecologies and behaviors of birds and other wildlife species are not only marvels of evolution, but also serve as excellent roadmaps for how to love our neighbors and organize for justice in community. Corina Newsome will share lessons learned from her work at the intersection of conservation science and environmental justice, and how the hidden wisdom of the natural world—embedded throughout our ecosystems and millions of years in the making—shows us what collective survival has always required.

Birds on the Niagara Festival, Events held at various locations
Birds on Niagara is an annual, international celebration of the incredible birds that call the Niagara River Region home. Hosted by Birds on Niagara, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our festival brings people together from both sides of the border to learn, explore, and appreciate one of the most important bird corridors in North America. Incorporated as an independent nonprofit in 2023, Birds on Niagara continues a long tradition of community-led birding events while expanding education, conservation awareness, and inclusive nature experiences for all. We’re proud to share the joy of birds with thousands of visitors each year.

We are lucky enough to live in a region that has beautiful forests with fall foliage that dazzles the eye. After the leaves fall the trees go largely dormant, join Ranger Austin for a walk and a chance to start picking up the cues for tree identification when the deciduous trees have shed their leaves. We will learn basic cues to help identify trees we find. Elevation: Varied elevation, steep in some areas; potential for icy conditions. Trail Conditions: Most likely snowy.
