The School Counseling Theme of the month is ACCOMPLISHMENT.
ACCOMPLISHMENT can be defined as pride and appreciation for attaining one's goals.

FRESHMEN & SOPHOMORES
Hopefully you found a club, sport, or organization to join this year that helped make your first year(s) of high school more rewarding. If you haven’t, take a look at the Clubs and Activities listing on the website to plan what you can join in the coming year. Participating in extra curriculars doesn't just "look good" they teach you about your interests and help you develop a more robust sense of self. Talk to your counselor as well, to come up with ideas.

SENIOR SURVEYS - Due June 7th
All seniors must complete their Senior Survey by June 7th. This survey (1) confirms your plans after high school (2) guarantees that Monroe-Woodbury will send YOUR FINAL, OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT to the college/university you will attend in the fall. If this survey is not completed, your final transcript will NOT be automatically sent to your school.
Log into Naviance
go to the “About Me” menu
select Surveys from Your School
click on “Senior Survey”
There are only 3 questions, but please answer each in its entirety. Make sure you only identify one school as “Attending”. After graduation, our office will send your final, official transcript for you. It's that easy!
WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS SUMMER?
For employment, academic or volunteer activities, check out the “Employment” or “Summer Opportunities” links at the bottom of your Naviance homepage to see available options. Official GPA & Rank
The final, seventh semester official GPA and rank has been calculated for our senior and is viewable in the forms section of student portals. This information provides the final decision for valedictorian, salutatorian and the top 25. Students who attend MWHS for a minimum of four (4) semesters prior to senior year receive a rank and all other graduating students will be co-ranked. For this reason, we have a total class size and a number of ranked seniors that is different. Congratulations to our Class of 2024! The count down is really on!
COLLEGE SPORTS & NCAA
Any college bound athlete with goals of playing a Division I or Division II sport must review NCAA guidelines for qualification. The NCAA Eligibility Center has many resources and there is a Guide for the College-Bound Student Athlete that is produced every year for reference. Athletes and families should also attend the NCAA presenation at our College Fair. There is much to learn, so do not wait until senior year to start reading! Some courses at MW do NOT qualify for NCAA credit so it is important to speak openly and often with coaches and your counselor about your plans. While faculty and staff can help share expertise, remember only NCAA can grant eligibility. Keep reading and asking questions to help keep you on the right path.
ACCES-VR APPLICATIONS
Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) services are for individuals with disabilities that interfere with getting or keeping a job or who have difficulty advancing at their job. Information and the application will be sent home to all seniors with either a 504 or IEP around the second week of October. Only eligible students need apply. An ACCES-VR representative will be in touch with all applicants to review the next steps and the services that may be provided. An email was also sent to all applicable seniors and parents on the evening of September 15, 2023.
