A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL ROGER DAVIS
Dear North Main Families,
Although February is the shortest month of the year, we were certainly able to create lifelong memories together as a school community!
Our drama production of The Little Mermaid was absolutely amazing. Our students shined on stage, and we are so proud of their hard work and dedication. A special thank you to everyone who helped make this production such a success.
Our two Odyssey of the Mind teams also did a fantastic job in their competitions. One team earned 4th place for their problem, and the other team earned an impressive 3rd place finish. We are incredibly proud of their creativity, teamwork, and perseverance.
We also enjoyed a wonderful Glow Family Dance filled with energy and excitement, and we had so much fun celebrating the 100th Day of School!
Let’s keep the energy going as we move into the month of March. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held this month. If you have not already done so, please schedule a time with your child’s teacher to discuss their progress. These conversations are an important part of supporting student growth and success.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we make great things happen for our students!
Roger Davis

March is “National Nutrition Month.” Good nutrition is the heart of a healthier lifestyle and a healthier you! Making informed food choices, fostering healthy eating habits and focusing on physical activity is a great way to start. Focus on quality whole food rather than processed and fast foods. The daily recommended servings for each food group; 3 vegetables, 2 fruits, 3 dairy, 3 proteins, 2-4 whole grain servings per day as well as drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day.
A friendly reminder of when to keep your child home and the Monroe-Woodbury 24-hour rule:

The first day of spring is Friday, March 20, 2026, finally! Even though we’re starting to see warmer weather, it’s still unpredictable so make sure you dress your children for cold weather and in layers for changing indoor & outdoor temperatures. Please continue to encourage handwashing, coughing and sneezing into elbows. Get a good night’s sleep, exercise and a balanced diet with plenty of water!
Physicals and Vision/Hearing Screenings:
The New York State Department of Education requires that all 3rd & 5th grade students and New Entrants have a physical exam. A valid physical for this school year is one performed on or after September 1st, 2024 or new entrants within 1 year prior to start date.
Additionally, per NYS law, we will be screening all 3rd and 5th grade; and new entrant students' vision and hearing if it has not been done and documented on their current physical exam. In addition, we will be screening all 5th grade female students for scoliosis if it is not documented on their most current physical.
