REQUIREMENT: Student MUST have passed Algebra I.
AP Computer Science Principles offers a survey of topics to understand the principles of computation. This full-year course will help students understand the creative aspects of programming, the Internet, cybersecurity concerns, innovations, data analysis, data visualization and computing impacts. AP Computer Science Principles gives students the opportunity develop individual and group problem solving skills to address a variety of tasks. Students will research, present, program, and "play" throughout the year.
The culmination of this course will be the Advance Placement Exam offered by the College Board every May. Students that demonstrate strong skills can earn college credit with a score of a 3, 4, or 5.
