College Scholarships
Below is information about the scholarship process for the WA State 4-Yr Public Universities as well as Skagit Valley College. Some colleges have separate scholarship applications, while others use their application for admission to screen for scholarships. Make sure to familiarize yourself with your colleges scholarship process and due dates!
Central Washington University: New and returning CWU students, as well as new applicants*, are eligible to complete the online Scholarship Central application for CWU Foundation and Departmental scholarships. Over 325 scholarships are available exclusively to Central students! Visit www.cwu.edu for more information.
Eastern Washington University: Every year EWU awards approximately $5.5 million in scholarships. Add that to approximately $140 million in financial aid, and a degree from EWU is definitely within your financial reach. Students have two ways to earn an EWU scholarship: 1) Apply for admission by the priority deadline for the the fall quarter. Apply at least 48 hours before the admissions deadline of Feb 1st OR 2) Complete the annual scholarship application. Visit www.ewu.edu for more information.
Evergreen State College: Students should submit a packet of all required materials specific to each scholarship and tuition award description. Due date is February 1st. Materials include Letter of Application, Letters of Recommendation, Transcript, Financial Aid Application and Portfolio. For a complete list of requirements, visit www.evergreen.edu
Skagit Valley College: The Skagit Valley College Foundation offers a wide variety of scholarships each year to eligible students. To apply, all applicants must complete and submit the online SVC Foundation Scholarship Application. SVC student ID and SVC email address are required to apply for SVC Foundation Scholarships. If you do not yet have these, please apply for admission to SVC.
University of Washington: The UW offers scholarships in everything from academic pursuits and research activities to community service and musical talents. You are considered for some scholarship programs automatically as part of your admission or financial aid applications.
Washington State University: Over 700 different scholarship programs are awarded through the Washington State University Scholarship Application. .This is a separate application than the application for admission. You must submit this application every year to be considered for university awards. For more information visit www.wsu.edu. Western Washington University: Freshmen are automatically considered for merit-based and activity scholarships as well as many of our donor sponsored scholarships based on information provided in their application for admission. No separate application is needed to apply for these awards.
