- Details regarding each of the six types of simple machines
- Explanation of how that machine works
- Examples the each simple machine

The second part of the project was centered around Rube Goldberg. Each student created an illustration of an imaginative Rube Goldberg machine to do a simple task. Then students worked together to create a Rube Goldberg Robber Trap. Teams were all required to follow certain parameters and utilized the Engineering Design Process to create their machine.
