BIO 101
Focuses on foundations in cellular structure, metabolism, and genetics in an evolutionary context. Explores the core concepts of evolution; structure and function; information flow, storage and exchange; pathways and transformations of energy and matter; and systems biology. Emphasizes the process of science, interdisciplinary approach, and relevance of biology to society. Part I of a two-course sequence.
Prerequisites: Readiness to enroll in ENG 111 plus completion of developmental math unit 3 required or placement in unit 4 or above
Hands on labs and active modeling help connect students to content.

Env 121
Explores fundamental components and interactions that make up the natural systems of the earth. Introduces the basic science concepts in the disciplines of biological, chemical, and earth sciences that are necessary to understand and address environmental issues.
Prerequisites: BIO 101
Hands on, feet wet learning! Ecology seniors spend three days on Port Isobel Island in the Chesapeake Bay to learn about the ecology of their watershed.
Students are outside and involved in the community as much as possible!
