Ensembles

4 concert bands, 3 jazz ensembles, pep band, pit orchestra and the Muskego Warrior Marching Band.

Our concert bands rehearse every day and perform 4 concerts a year. (1 per quarter) To be a member of any other ensemble, students must first be a member of one of these 4 concert bands.

Warrior Band

This band does not require an audition.  This is the band that freshman should sign up for. 

symphonic Band

This band requires an audition.  This is the next level up from WARRIOR BAND. 

symphonic winds and percussion - "SWAP"

This band requires an audition.  This is the next level up from SYMPHONIC BAND and is considered an advanced ensemble. 

WIND ENSEMBLE

This band requires an audition.  This is the next level up from SWAP and is considered an advanced ensemble. 

Our jazz ensembles each meet 2 days a week before school. They are considered "zero" hour classes and students earn .5 credit per year. Jazz ensembles perform 2 concerts a year. (1 per semester) Students must be in a concert band to participate in jazz, however exceptions may be made for guitar, bass or piano players. Exceptions must be approved by a band director. 

tuesday/friday jazz ensemble

This ensemble does not require an audition.  This is the band that freshman should sign up for. Students who are learning a new instrument for jazz should start in this ensemble as well. Upperclassmen may be in this ensemble as well if Tuesdays / Fridays work better for your schedule.

monday/wednesday jazz ensemble

This ensemble does not require an audition.  This is the next level up from TF JAZZ ENSEMBLE.

This ensemble requires an audition.  This ensemble is considered an advanced ensemble.

All 4 concert bands combine to make the MHS Warrior Marching Band. Students earn .5 summer school credit for completion of our summer marching "camp". Marching Band is required of all band members.

Recognized as one of the finest and largest high school marching bands in the state of Wisconsin, our marching band is the pride of our school and community. 

The following ensembles are co-curricular groups and do not earn school credit. They are treated like a sport or other co-curricular group. Therefore, they adhere to the rules and regulations of such, including the need to submit a code card, drug consent form and fee. 

pep band

This ensemble does not require an audition. Students do not need to commit to the entire season. They may participate in as many performances as their schedule allows. 

Pep Band energizes the fans at select home basketball games (mostly Fridays) by playing classic pop and rock hits, both old and new. Students earn points toward their academic letter for each pep band performance. 

pit orchestra

This ensemble is selected by the director. It may require an audition. 

The Pit Orchestra provides the accompaniment for our yearly musical staged at the end of every February.
