Management
The use of a Mobile Device Manager (MDM) is highly recommended. An MDM allows a teacher to hide the settings you do not want students to access, such as device settings, or the Meta Store. A teacher can launch, or turn access to specific apps on/off from their computer via a console - for all headsets in a couple of clicks. Setup can take some time, and the headsets must be added to the MDM using a sideloading process - but the steps are well documented. There are currently two popular choices for Meta (or Pico) Mobile Device Managers:

ArborXR - for pricing contact Mychal Augustine mychal@arborxr.com

Oculus makes it a challenge for new apps to be added to the Oculus App store. And installing apps using the Sidequest installation process can be a challenge. So Oculus partnered with SideQuest to create a solution called the "SideQuest App Lab." Apps in SideQuest which are featured in the App Lab, ofter must be purchased, but they can be installed using the normal process => clicking on an app to install, no cables and no SideQuest or developer's account is required. Look for the "Get on Oculus" button. This opens a hidden portal in the Oculus Store for these developer apps.
SideQuest is an app and website. It allows a user to install and manage apps on the Oculus Quest independent from the Oculus Store. At first, the process sounds daunting, but it is well worth the effort as it provides access to apps not available in the Oculus Store (most at no cost.) You must create an Oculus Developers Accounts (takes only a minute) and toggle developer mode on in the mobile app (not in the headset.) And install the SideQuest app and if on a Windows computer, the drivers. Some of the apps are still in development or beta, and the developers welcome feedback.
