Holi, also known as the festival of colours, is a religious occasion celebrated with much pomp. It is considered the second biggest Hindu festival after Diwali, and the celebrations last for two days - Choti Holi or Holika Dahan and Dhulandi or Rangwali Holi. It marks the celebration of the victory of good over evil

Nowruz/Norooz/Norouz = New Day

Nowruz (“new day”) is a new year holiday that has roots in Iranian culture and the Zoroastrian religion. It is often called the Persian New Year. Nowruz starts at the moment of the spring equinox (the moment spring begins). 

Passover & Easter: Celebration of New Life

Passover is a week-long Jewish festival celebrating of the freedom from Egyptian slavery. It is a time of hope, renewal, and life at the beginning of Spring. Passover begins with Seder at sundown. Easter

• Eggstraordinary Easter Weekend – April 8-9, 2023. The Easter Bunny will make a stop at Roaring Camp. 5401 Graham Hill Road, Felton. 

Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr

Ramadan begins April 2, 2022. It is a month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting celebrated within Islam by Muslims around the world.  Eid Al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan. It is also known as Festival of Breaking the Fast.

Vaisakhi

Vaisakhi, also pronounced Baisakhi, marks the first day of the month of Vaisakh and is traditionally celebrated annually on 13 April and sometimes 14 April as a celebration of spring harvest. (There is no significant difference between the distinctions VAisakhi/ Baissakhi. There is no distinction between sounds between 'va' & 'ba' in Prakrit & Apbhramsa. Hence the name, Vaisakhi or Baisakhi.) Vaisakhi has been the traditional Sikh New Year. The festival has been traditionally observed in the Punjab region. Further, other Indian cultures and diaspora celebrate this festival too. In Hinduism, Vaisakhi marks the beginning of Hindu solar New Year, and the first day of the month of Vaisakha, which roughly corresponds to April/May in the Gregorian Calendar commonly used in western cultures.

Memorial Day- celebrated the last Monday in May in remembrance of soldiers who have fallen.
