What is Pizza Hut Book It! program?
BOOK IT! is a reading incentive program created by Pizza Hut in 1984. We empower teachers and parents to motivate their students to read by providing Reading Award Certificates®, good for a free, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza® from Pizza Hut®. The mission of the program is to turn "have to read" into "want to read" or for TK it can also be "want to be read to".
How does Book It! work in our classroom?
This program is an individualized incentive program. Students who read 400 minutes a month (or 100 minutes/week; 20 minutes/ daily) will earn a certificate for a “FREE” personalized one-topping pizza at Pizza Hut.
Parents must approve their child's participation in the program and provide your email address to receive the certificates. Student certificates will be sent to parent e-mail only. Each month I will send home a tracking Calendar that you will turn into me on the last school day of the month. For each day your child reads 20 minutes or more, your child will color in the picture for that day. If you do not read for 20 minutes, you can write in the number of minutes in the box next to the picture.
