Congratulations Class of 2024 Hall of Fame Inductees!

Nipmuc Regional High School opened its doors in 1960 and in over more than six decades of athletic participation has developed a rich tradition of high school athletics. In 2018, the Nipmuc Athletic Hall of Fame was formed as a way to honor that tradition. Since that time, 22 individuals and five teams have been inducted into the Hall of Fame in celebration of their accomplishments and their impact on the school community. Today, the Nipmuc Athletic Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the inductees for the Nipmuc Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2024. 

Individuals

-Richard “Dick” Auger (Cross Country/Track Coach and Teacher/Retired 2021)

-Scott Channing (Class of 1983)

-Joseph Cummings (Class of 1996)

-Cynthia Garceau (Class of 1996) 

-Maria Picard (Class of 2005)

-Craig Robertson (Class of 2006)

Team

2006 Girls Soccer Team-This team was the second of back-to-back state championship teams in 2005 and 2006. They finished their 2006 campaign with a record of 17-2-4 and won the Division 2 state championship with a victory against Cardinal Spellman.

Green and White Award 

As part of our induction ceremony the Nipmuc Regional Athletic Hall of Fame executive committee chooses a recipient of the Green and White Award. The Green and White award is given to an individual, group or entity “who has/have served as advocates for Nipmuc Regional High School Athletics or made a significant contribution to athletics in general.” It is with great pleasure that the 2024 Green and White award is presented to Shining Rock Golf Club. Shining Rock and its General Manager, Lou Papadellis have been ardent supporters of our students and programs.

In 2019 the Nipmuc Regional High School  established the 

Nipmuc Regional High School Athletics Hall of Fame. 

The purpose of the Nipmuc Regional High School (NRHS) Athletic Hall of Fame is to select, recognize, and honor former student-athletes, teams, coaches, and supporters who have brought distinction to themselves and Nipmuc Regional High School through their achievement, commitment, leadership, and sportsmanship in athletics in order to connect the Mendon-Upton community and NRHS alumni with the high school’s rich athletic history.Nipmuc Regional High School opened its doors in 1960 and over the nearly six decades of athletic participation has developed a rich tradition of high school athletics. In 2018, a committee gathered to create an organization to honor that tradition. The Nipmuc Regional High School Athletic Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the inaugural Hall of Fame Class of 2020. In announcing the members of the inaugural class, Athletic Director and Hall of Fame President Christopher Schmidt stated, “The nine committee members have worked tirelessly over the last twenty months to create a hall of fame that represents the history of Nipmuc Athletics.
