Surviving 7th Grade: This is a group offered to seventh grade students to help with the adjustment to a Junior High setting. Students learn the skills needed to thrive in their new environments such as goal setting, time management, and organization.
Preparing for 10th Grade: This is offered to students to ease the transition to High School. We will discuss ways students can be successful in their new upcoming environment, as well as plan for the future and set goals.
Social Skills: The goal of this group is to allow students to strengthen their skills in social interactions, problem solving, and expressing needs appropriately. Students will learn tools to become role models in our school.
FearlesslyKIND: The program is specifically designed for junior high girls and is run in a small group setting for 10-12 weeks. Fearlessly Kind is built to help girls navigate the challenges of friendships, self esteem, body image, bullying, and cyber drama, and gives them the tools to create a kinder Girl World.
Stress Group: How students cope with and react to stress can have a monumental effect on grades and well-being. Our Stress Group will address ways students can handle their stress in positive, healthy ways.
Girls on the Run: The Girls on the Run Mission is to "inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running." Hillcrest New Students Group: Transitioning to a new school can be hard. New students will meet to discuss challenges, successes, and make helpful connections with peers in similar situations.
Growth Mindset Group: The goal of this group is to help students understand the power they have to continue growing despite whatever failure, disappointment, or struggle they may face. They will learn the difference between fixed vs. growth mindset and how to allow themselves to transition into growth.
