We are excited to kick off the Partners in Science 2025 Research Symposium! We have held this conference for nearly 20 years in San Diego, and this will mark its beginning in the Pacific Northwest.
We have a wonderful program planned. Click here to see the complete 2025 agenda. At the heart of this event is hearing from our teachers about their summer research. This year we have 11 oral presentations and 19 poster presentations! We also have some exciting off-site lab tours planned, as well as morning and afternoon teaching workshops.
Our keynote speaker this year is Julie Rorrer, PhD from the University of Washington's Department of Chemical Engineering. We also have three shorter “Jack Talks” (named after our founder and benefactor, Melvin “Jack” Murdock). We will hear from Tibi Iovu, the senior manager at the Adidas Maker Lab, Dr. Shivani Ahuja, physical biochemist from Reed College, and Elizabeth Beks, our 2023 Murdock Exemplary Teacher-Researcher Awardee. Please see each speakers’ full profile below.

About The Program
This unique program engages secondary science teachers (in-service and pre-service) in authentic and innovative research experiences in a university lab or other research institution, enabling them to more effectively guide their students through the processes of science and foster new knowledge. The program enables teachers (partners) and academic scientists (mentors) to collaborate in the advancement of science, with the goal that both will grow professionally in the process.
