MEETING IN SPAIN


The Spanish school CEP Antonio de Ulloa received, during the week of 18th- 22nd November 2019, teachers from Greece, Turkey, Austria and United Kingdom to celebrate the first transnational meeting of the Erasmus Plus partnership: Let´s go cultural!


One of the aims of this partnership is to learn about the traditions and customs of the participating countries, which are Greece (coordinator), Turkey, Austria, United Kingdom and Spain.


During this week, there have been among other activities: a welcome ceremony, exhibitions of the history of Carthaginians and Romans, regional costumes, samples of bobbins, pottery workshops, presentation of the project logo, visits to museums and some places of cultural interest, songs, dances, traditional games and videoconferences with students and teachers from Austria and Greece.


This experience has been very enriching for all our students and teachers and has helped to share the good practices carried out in the five European countries of this partnership.

MEETING IN SPAIN

MONday, 18th November

Welcoming the partners at “Antonio de Ulloa” school

Welcoming song and speech by local and regional authorities, Spanish headteacher, Spanish coordinator and students.

Guide tour around our school and visit to some classes, Erasmus Plus corner, Cultural stands (traditional costumes/ pottery/ bobbin lace/ festivals: Holy week & Romans and Carthaginians) and Project logo exhibition.

Getting to Know each other workshop: Power point presentations about our schools. Participant teachers present themselves. All participants sing the “Yia sou song” in order to break the ice and become one big team.

Lunch at “Venta El Abasto” restaurant.Tasting some dishes of our local and regional cuisine.

Visit to the windmills in Torre Pacheco (The Cartagena countryside has been a land of windmills for more than six centuries).

TUESDAY, 19th November

Teachers participate in different classes along with host teachers and interact with students. Cultural topic: Romans and Carthaginians in Cartagena

Visit to the Roman Theatre in Cartagena and Roman Forum neighbourhood.

MEETING IN SPAIN

WEDNESDAY, 20th November

Teachers work with students in the Spanish school on different activities along with host teachers. Cultural topic: Places of interest and creation of a travel guide.

Seminar: How important is cultural heritage? A guest speaker talks to students and teachers about the importance of preserving the cultural heritage.

Visit to the City Hall

Lunch at Cala cortina in Cartagena

Trip to La Manga (Mar Menor), Visit to Cabo de Palos Lighthouse and sunset by the sea.

FREE TIME (walk around the town, going for tapas in Cartagena)

Teachers work with students in the Spanish school on different activities along with host teachers. (Cultural topic)

Workshop on local culture: Pottery workshop

Teachers of all partner schools share their good practices working on a topic of cultural interest.

Teachers and students visit a place of cultural interest: Agrupa Vicenta mine, La Unión

Farewell lunch at Nautic Club restaurant

The farewell lunch ended with all the teachers singing our partnership song.
