From the 14th to the 20th of October, 2023
Quimper is a charming city located in the Region of Brittany in France. On the first day of our visit, we had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful walk around its streets and admiring its architectural harmony. Crepes with hot chocolate, cream and caramel put the icing on the cake and provided our pupils with the energy needed for a week of hard work. Ready to meet our parnerts!
After a welcoming breakfast, the week's programme was presented by the French teachers and serveral ice-breaking activities took place to get to know each other.
Pupils were placed into groups with members of different nationalities. Using entertaining games to get to know a city is an educational way of starting to build communication and strengthen ties among the members of the group.
Instructions were given to the students as this presentation shows.
The association Handisport Cornouaille Quimper offered our pupils the opportunity to feel how it is like to be in the disabled people's shoes: learning to deal with disabilities and overcoming barriers to keep on living and adjust to difficult situations.
Playing basketball in a wheelchair and guiding a blind person can teach pupils the importance of inclusion, recognizing and accepting the difference.

Respecting the environment and promoting conservation of biodiversity: the pupils visited the Marinarium and the Fishing Museum. They learned about the impact that global warming and climate change are having on lobsters. They became more aware of the importance of sustainability and taking care of the planet.
Our students participated in wokshops organised by La Sablière College and the Lycee Le Paraclet: the task consisted in cooking several dishes, serving and tasting them in a professional environment. So entreprenouship is also involved.
After collecting information, the pupils worked in international groups to write an e-book on the different topics treated during the week. So digital technology is also involved.

Customs and traditions must be safeguarded and passed on to the next generation. All of us are responsible for that and young people are awared of it. Students learnt about typical dresses and dances in Quimper. They had some fun together!
Pupils from Spain, France and The Netherlands worked in groups to write e-books in order to share everything they learned and make an impact on their schools and communities. Click on each of them and enjoy the reading!
