From the 26th to the 31st of March, 2023
In March 2022, IES Ginés Pérez Chirinos had the pleasure to host our parnerts from Excelsior Academy and RSG-Enkhuizen to keep on working on the project Erasmus+ Héroes: Helping the Earth restore Order through Environmental Sustainability.
During one week of hard work, students explored the ODS and contributed to the reforestation of La Junquera by planting six hundreds trees and visited Minor Sea to understand the environmental problems which are having a detrimental impact on the lagoon.
In addition, students wrote a Manifesto and a Decalogue for Sustainability and took part in a peaceful demonstration which started at the school and finished at the Town Hall. There, three fortunate students were invited by the Mayor of Caravaca to read the Manifesto from the Presidential Balcony in three languages: Spanish, English and Dutch.
Pupils worked in groups and came up with ideas which were included on this padlet.

This photo album shows all the activities carried out during the week which gave our students an amazing opportunity to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals in an enternaining way. Each activity was intended to instill in every student a sense of responsibility in taking action for the conservation of our planet. Click on the image and enjoy it!
Students worked in groups to write a Manifesto for Sustainability in English. Then, they translated it into Dutch and Spanish.

Pupils also collaborated all together to design a Decalogue for Sustainability.
