Meeting Henbo and learning about him and his art style!
Students were given the task to create components/characters that could be included in a mural for Fishtown, Philadelphia.
With the help of Mural Arts teachers and Henbo, students were able to develop their ideas into characters that were used for the mural.
After students came up with their designs, they hung them up to see how to map out the mural.
With the help of these ideas and concepts, Henbo created a design that students then traced. This played as a scaled down version of the actual mural and its dimensions.
Tracing out the design helped see and solidify proportions and placement of characters.
Once the layout was complete, students began trying to come up with a color palette. Students knew they wanted the colors to be vibrant to help the elements of the mural pop.
