Club members enjoyed seasonal snacks, a bookish ice breaker, and a literary version of Pictionary. The two book clubs meet during the school year for author talks, to watch movie adaptations of books, for the camaraderie, and to encourage reading through high school and beyond.

Author Jenn Bishop visits with Munster's Book Clubs
The Munster High School and Wilbur Wright Middle School Book Clubs hosted author Jenn Bishop at their end-of-the-year meeting on May 8, 2025. Bishop talked with members about her writing process and the inspiration for her stories.
The Munster High School and Wilbur Wright Middle School Book Clubs attended the Dec. 6, 2024 showing of the movie Wicked in Schererville. The clubs revisited L. Frank Baum’s classic tale The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and will compare elements from the story to their depiction in the movie.
All group reading selections are chosen by club members.

Author and alumnus Brad Haizlip visits with Munster's Book Clubs
Brad Haizlip (MHS Class of 1985), graphic designer, author, and host of The Authors Table podcast, was the guest speaker at the joint meeting of the Munster High School and Wilbur Wright Middle School Book Clubs on Friday, May 3, 2024. Haizlip talked to club members about the writing process, developing creativity, and how to maintain a sense of wonder. The book clubs gather together for the camaraderie and to talk about their love of reading.
