This week CFER is gearing up in preparation for Mobilization on July 8th! This week we have been collecting our PPE, training students in plankton sampling analysis, and testing all of our gear before the at sea testing starts next week. We are so excited to be going back out into the field, and can't wait to bring you all along with us!

This week we are loading up the ship, preparing for calibration and at-sea trials before we head out on the first leg of the field season; Hawke Channel!

Our team was busy loading up the ship with the equipment yesterday, and can't wait to head out and use it!
The last few days we have been re-assembling our gear and calibrating equipment before we start at sea trials today and tomorrow. We are almost ready to set out on the first leg of the field season!

The last tasks our crew faced before departing Saturday was testing the equipment at sea! This is to ensure us that all of the equipment and gear works before we depart offshore.

Under the Marine Conservation Areas project, and in collaboration with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Newfoundland and Labrador Region), scientists and students set sail July 8th at 17:00 for the Hawke Channel marine refuge.
