A note on “tracks”:
Participants are not required to register in or follow a specific track, and many people choose to mix and match. These tracks are simply to offer guidance to those who may be wondering where to go.
- Survivor Track: for people who self-identify as survivors, whether or not they work professionally in the field
- Advocacy Track: for people who work in programs providing advocacy services. "Advanced Advocacy" tracks assume that attendees have had a minimum of 40 hours of basic advocacy training and may not cover definitions helpful to those who are new to the work.
- Provider Track: for people who work in community-based or systems-based service provider organizations like community-based non-profits or criminal/legal system
The SAAM Conference topics and agenda were informed by the Sexual Violence Community Action Board, Sexual Assault Advisory Council (SAAC) and the Conference Planning Committee by survey.
Planning for the Conference has been led by the Sex Trafficking Community Advisory Board and supported by the Sex Trafficking Collaborative, Sexual Assault Advisory Committee and the Multnomah County Department of County Human Services (DCHS) Domestic and Sexual Violence Coordination Office (DSVCO)
The conference space has been generously donated by Portland Community College (PCC)
