Who We Are

The Sexual Assault Advisory Council (SAAC) is a collaborative of community-based survivor service providers in Multnomah County, Oregon. SAAC’s foundation is rooted in an understanding of equity and intersectionality. We support and guide sexual violence prevention and intervention work in Multnomah County.  Our purpose is to improve access to services and resources to ensure that survivors feel safe, heard, empowered and valued. We are committed to challenging system norms, improving policies and practices, striving towards change and providing training and education. We recognize survivors as the experts of their own experiences and center survivors’ needs, autonomy and freedom of choice.

SAAC is a subcommittee of the Multnomah County Family Violence Coordinating Council (FVCC) and is staffed and supported by the Multnomah County Domestic & Sexual Violence Coordination Office (DSVCO).

If you're part of an organization working with survivors of sexual violence, either directly or indirectly, and would like to talk about joining SAAC, please contact Lee at lee.watts@multco.us
