What is Unified Response?
Unified Response is a collaboration of six organizations (UNICA, Slavic Oregon Social Services (SOSS), Native American Youth and Family Center Healing Circle (NAYA), VOA Home Free, Immigrant and Refugee Community Organizaiton (IRCO) and Call to Safety) that provides confidential advocacy and support to sexual assault survivors, with mobile crisis advocates dispatched to 12 local hospital sites and clinics.
Multnomah County is committed to supporting the safety, dignity and self-determination of those who have been harmed by sexual violence. In 2023, the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners approved funding for the creation and implementation of the Unified Sexual Assault Hospital Response. Unified Response organizations provide confidential advocacy and support to survivors when a sexual assault has occurred, and follow-up advocacy and resources. Unified Response organizations are able to offer culturally and linguistically responsive services when requested.
In 2025, sexual assault advocates responded to 400 calls at 12 area hospitals, providing confidential support during sexual assault medical exams and follow up resources and advocacy.
