This page provides helpful resources to ensure your cast member arrives at dress rehearsals and performances fully stage-ready from head to toe! Below is important information for shoes, base layers, makeup, and hair!
If financial assistance is needed, please contact Drama Booster President Sharla McKeon at dramaboosterhp@gmail.com for confidential support
All cast members should arrive at every tech/dress rehearsal and performance with:
Filled water bottle, labeled with name
Hair DONE
Base clothing ON (can wear clothes over to travel to/from theatre)
Base makeup DONE (bring labeled makeup for touchups)
Jazz shoes - Change into them at theatre
Deodorant ON and with you
For Tech rehearsals on school days: Cast should have hair done in the morning before school, and bring their makeup, shoes, and base layers to school with them. We will allow time at the theatre to get makeup and base layers on. We will NOT have time to braid hair at the theatre.
🧼Hygiene note: Most costumes cannot be washed, please help us keep them stain and odor-free by encouraging DAILY showers and mandatory use of deodorant every rehearsal and performance day.
Base Layers
All cast must wear their assigned color base layers, as they change in shared spaces. These layers help everyone feel comfortable and ensure costumes look appropriate under stage lighting.
❗Each student has assigned colors (or may wear skin tone if preferred). Color assignments can be found at this link:
Similar items you already own are OK, just make sure shorts are longer, like bike shorts.
Every student needs to wear black jazz shoes. Used or new is fine! Below is a link for a great pair:
Bottoms
Tops
Please wear a bra that is skin tone or the same color as the tank top underneath. No thick strap sports bras.

Base Makeup
Every cast member ( ALL GENDERS) needs to arrive at every tech/dress rehearsal and performance with a base layer of makeup on.
Required makeup:
Foundation
Mascara
Eyeliner: Bring your own eyeliner for hygiene and safety; makeup artists will apply it.
Our makeup artists will provide and apply blush, contour, or any character-specific makeup.
Below are some budget-friendly options that we've found work well on stage. These are just suggestions. Please ensure the foundation is matte finish and a tone match or 1 shade darker if in between shades.
The stage lights wash EVERYONE out.
e.l.f. Soft Glam Satin Foundation
Great skin tone range!
Maybelline Matte Poreless Foundation
Also great skin tone range!
Black or Dark Brown
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara

e.l.f. Lip Stain in Rosa Rizzin'

OPTIONAL: Nice to apply foundation! Use and toss so no washing of brushes necessary!
OPTIONAL: Wipes can be helpful for fixing makeup or removing it after the show.
