Apartment Guide

As is custom in our part of the world, Te Hiku o Te Ika The Far North, the home is Tapu (Sacred) and we kindly ask that shoes are removed before entering your apartment.

Noise is to be kept to a minimum after 8.30 pm. Be considerate to other guests in other apartments, and our neighbours.

NO PARTIES or EVENTS are permitted on the premises.

Please wash off the sand before entering the apartment using the hose by the front door. Please do not use showers to do this as it can block the drains. 

We depend on tank water so please do not leave taps running for long periods and please be mindful of this when having showers.

All tap water that enters the apartments is tripled filtered and the smaller spout at your kitchen sink is filtered again. Please consider this before purchasing bottled water for your stay.

VISITORS- We allow visitors but our property is not to be used as a gathering or dining venue. The apartments are for paying guests only. We reserve the right charge extra for unarranged guests that stay. Kindly have all guests leave by 9pm.

If you are using the dishwasher please use the FAST wash option. Please rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher and hand wash pots, pans and large bowls. Powder is provided under the sink.

FISH shall not be gutted and scaled on our premises. Please do this down by the sea and return this to Tangaroa. Scales create quite the mess and so any evidence found of fish being scaled in the apartments will result in a $50 cleaning fee. 

Laundry facilities are not provided, the nearest laundromat is in Kaitaia.

Pets are not permitted.

We ask that you do not move furniture eg beds, couches.

We have one rule with the BBQs. If you don't know how to leave them clean, don't use them. If you're unfamiliar then a quick google on how to clean a bbq with paper towels can provide guidance. BBQ's that require cleaning will result in a $50 charge.

Lost or misplaced keys will result in a $100 charge due to the inconvenience of having to have these re-cut. If it transpires that your lost key results in locks being changed then the cost of this will be passed on to you direct as the cost always varies depending on complexity of the job.

The apartments have security cameras which are operational for both your safety and property protection. These capture the front doors only so your privacy is assured.

BYO BEACH TOWELS- our towels are not to leave the apartments.

Extra blankets are in the wardrobes of each room.

Please do not hang anything over the balcony railing as this discolours the stainless steel. A cloths horse is provided in the wardrobes. 

Please turn heaters and lights off when you leave the apartment.

Please do a sweep of the apartment before departing to ensure no items are left behind.

THEFT:

Body wash, bedding, pillows, towels, appliances and cleaning products are provided for your use while on site. Taking these when you depart is deemed theft and will result in a charge at a rate of replacement cost plus 15% inconvenience fee. Receipts will be sent to your email to verify these expenses.
