We give these assessments three times during the school year, once in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. To help ensure students truly demonstrate their ability and are motivated, they receive 10% of their classroom grade from their performance on these assessments in every class at MUHS. The student grade will be determined by learning growth and/or achievement during the semester.
Curriculum:
The things to be learned will consist of:
Algebra Basics (The Set of Real Numbers)
Equations and Inequalities
Relations and Functions
Linear Equations and Inequalities
Graphs, Functions
Measurements
Basic Geometry
Counting Methods

“The Real World” mathematics (PBL-Project Based Learning)
The speed and duration in which these topics are taught will be dependent on student comprehension and success.
There will be PROJECTS (PBL) assigned which will require the student to research and use analytics to complete. The projects may last a couple of days or a couple of weeks. Large, longer-lasting projects will be broken into smaller sub-projects to increase student comprehension.
Rubrics may be used for various projects where students will know what is expected from them during the assignment to receive a certain letter grade for that project.
