Kyle Lathon was born in Camden, NJ and raised in Shaker Heights, OH. He attended Ohio University in Athens, OH for his undergraduate degree and earned his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. He has lived in Arizona since 1998 and Cottonwood since 2014. He has two children, Amaya, a 2022 Mingus graduate and Isaiah, a 2024 Mingus Graduate. He is married to Meghan Lathon from Phoenix, AZ.

Mr. Lathon taught HS Math for 12 years before moving on to administrative roles. He served as Athletic Director for two High Schools in Phoenix, AZ and for Oak Creek Ranch School in Cornville, AZ. He also served as the Executive Director of the Northern Arizona Athletic Association.

Mr. Lathon has been a Basketball Coach, Football coach and Diving Coach for Mingus Union High School and continues to coach football.
