Students in 11th grade can take the ACT School Day exam to measure for college readiness, scholarships, and other accolades. MVISD will pay for the student to take this exam during their 11th grade year during the school day. Practice tests may be found at www.myact.org as well as study guides that may be checked out from the Counseling Office.
The Armed Services Vocational Assessment Battery is an optional test that students may take for free during their 10th-12th grade years. This test is needed for students to enter the military, but it also provides a great opportunity to explore careers based on strengths, interests, and aptitudes. This test is administered in the fall semester. Students register through the Counselor Google Classroom. Study guides may be checked out from the Counseling Office.
Students in 10th and 11th grade can take the PSAT/NMSQT to measure readiness for college, access scholarships, and practice for the SAT.
MVHS will offer the PSAT/NMSQT on October 2024. Registration information can be found via Google Classroom and the MVISD website. Registration and testing fee of $18 are due prior to testing. Practice materials may be found online and/or checked out from the Counseling Office.
The Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2 is a college readiness exam that most public colleges in Texas use to determine if students are ready to take college level courses. These tests are also required for students to take core curriculum for dual credit at Northeast Texas Community College. MVISD will pay for students to take the test one time. The math exam will paid for after the student's completion of Geometry, and the reading and writing exams will be paid for upon completion of English 3.
