When writing grants please use the following text to described the Genomic Sequencing lab.
The Genomic Sequencing laboratory at Michigan Tech is located in the H-STEM. This facility can be used by the university community and requires the user to supply consumables and pay for staff time. Available sequencing equipment includes Illumina NextSeq 2000, and Illumina MiSeq, and an Oxford Nanopore GridION and PromethION 2 Solo. Additional equipment include four thermocyclers, one Eppendorf X50s and three Eppendorf X50i units; an Agilent 4150 TapeStation, a Covaris M220 focused-ultrasonicator, an Applied Biosystems KingFisher Flex System, an Applied Biosystems QuantStudio 3, and a Bio-Rad QX200 Droplet Digital PCR System, a MP Biomedicals FastPrep 24 5G, an Invitrogen Countess 3 FL with GFP and RFP lightcubes, an Invitrogen Qubit 4 fluorometer, a thermo scientific NanoDrop Lite Plus Spectrophotometer, as well as additional small laboratory equipment (centrifuges, plate shakers, hula mixer, BioShake iQ), and numerous fridges and freezers.
