Mt. Silverwood RC Club is a Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) sanctioned club located in the beautiful Willamette Valley outside Mount Angel, Oregon.
Club History:
In the beginning the land the club field is located on was owned by local farmer Elmer Esch. Being active with radio controlled models for most of his life Elmer wanted a place to fly. He constructed a one acre grass runway and invited anyone who wanted to join him to come out and fly. In 1999 Elmer formed Mt. Silverwood RC Club with his friend Jim Prosser. Elmer served as president of the club until he passed away in 2006. Throughout his life he shared his passion with many people, building planes and teaching dozens of folks how to fly their model aircraft.
Today the Mt. Silverwood RC Club offers a relaxed flying atmosphere with excellent facilities including:
Mowed 300' x 150' grass runway with a smaller hard surface (ground cloth) runway for electric and other small airplanes.
