BC Calc Summer Assignment
On this page you can find information on the assignment for students entering AP Calculus BC in the fall. Next year we will focus more on concepts and thinking outside of the box. We will not have time to review basic algebraic/precalculus topics that you should already know. Therefore, it is imperative that you have mastered the basic skills needed for success in this course.
Many students struggle with the Algebra component of Calculus and neglect the concepts and theorems. It is a shame when a student understands the Calculus but cannot simplify or don't have a solid base in limits! Thus, the purpose of this assignment is to help you be better prepared for next year.
You must be signed into your MTSD account to view the assignment. If you have any questions you can then post them on our google classroom or contact me at krafferty@mtsd.us (I do not check my email often in the summer so you will have to be patient =). The key for the assignment is posted on our google classroom.
Keep in mind that this packet is not meant to “torture” you or “punish” you for taking AP Calculus BC. If you are not interested in exploring math outside of the classroom, you may want to reflect on your course choice this year! You will be required to use outside class time during the school year and in the summer to dive deeper into what we do in class! This will better prepare you and allow us more time to review before the AP Exam.
