Please help your child make food choices for breakfast and snack which will help to power learning. Keep any sugary snacks as a "treat" for after lunch and provide food options for breakfast and snack which are rich in vitamins, complex carbohydrates and protein. Considering the possibility of a peanut and nut free classroom environment, some snack suggestions include:
- any kind of fresh fruit or vegetable
- yogurt based dips or hummus
- cheeses of any kind or form and whole grain crackers
- slices of meat such as chicken or turkey
- hard boiled egg
- egg or tuna salad and whole grain crackers
- fruit or honey sweetened plain yogurt
