The intention of the Voyager and Expedition program is to be student-centered and student-driven, and to develop student talents in a variety of disciplines. Teachers will use these sample units as guides in creating opportunities that meet the needs of the unique learners in their programs.
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
During this unit, you are encouraged to use activities from the Parks and Black Building Thinking Skills, Digital Escape Rooms, and Divergent Thinking Activities. Use this unit to begin to get to know your kids and to identify their strengths and interests.
Genius Hour (Passion Projects)
Students can propose or select a project to work on with a team, pair, or independently.

At the high school level, the majority of the needs of the students are mostly met through the rich and diverse offerings of courses, including electives, honors and AP courses. Additionally, academic contests and competitions, groups, clubs, and as well as leadership activities are made available to students through the Media Specialist, supported by supervisors and advisors. (As the K-8 program grows, student G&T portfolios will be passed along to the media specialist and to a student’s guidance counselor in order to help craft a unique, interest-driven high school experience.
