In painting, students will explore the foundation of painting, its application and materials. It focuses on color theory and study of using paint as a coloring medium. Students will become familiar with the proper use of tempera, watercolor and acrylic paints while working in different painting styles throughout Art History.

GRADING
Each studio project will be graded by rubric. Rubrics will be used for student self-assessment as well as instructor assessment. Do now activities, critiques, reflections, and a weekly evaluation will make up the remainder of your grade.
Each category is weighted as follows:
PROJECTS - 65%
SKETCHBOOK / DO NOW - 20%
CRITIQUE / WEEKLY EVALUATION - 15%
