Sight Reading Factory
All students will be required to complete 20 minutes of Sight Reading Factory practice each week. This can be done during Academic Assistance, extra work time, or on their own at home. Practice assignments will involve both rhythmic reading and sight singing with solfege.
How Does Choir Karate Work?
Each trimester, students will work on specific sight reading concepts that are in-line with our MTSD choral curriculum.
At the end of each trimester, students will take a sight reading assessment in order to achieve their belt color. Students can take these assessments as many times as needed in order for them to find success.
Students can also complete extra sight reading work outside of class to achieve "sparkle" belts, which will count towards extra credit.
