Objective:

Upon the completion of this unit, students will demonstrate an understanding of the unique format and content of screenplays by writing at least two sequences using screenplay writing software.

Activities:

• Understand the four main types of screenplay lines.
• Breakdown and build a scene using beats, scenes, and sequences.
• Create three sequences based on the outside reading book the student has read.
• Understand the difference between prose and screenplays.
• Adapt a key scenes from the outside reading book to screenplay format.
• Learn to use online screenwriting software

Evaluation:

Students will be evaluated based on how well he/she can use each of the four types of screenplay lines and how well he/she can turn scenes from the book into movie scenes.
