Join our Global Student Lounge team!

• The Global Student Lounge at MRU provides a vibrant space for students from all backgrounds to meet other MRU students as well as students studying on exchange. The space staffed by student leaders and volunteers who can provide information, support, and peer-driven programs that connect international and domestic students. The team plans and creates opportunities for students to participate in fun and engaging social and cultural activities, and provides a space for students to gather to practice language, study, meet new people, build community, and learn from each other.

Language Partners Program

The Language Partners Program coordinated by International Education is an informal language learning and teaching program that brings together students wanting to learn or practice a new language. Participants get the chance to practice speaking a chosen language in casual conversation outside of the classroom. Participating in the Language Partners program helps students develop fluency and confidence.

The 2025/2026 Language Partners Program is currently underway for students to teach and learn from each other. There is a strong demand for this program! If you are interested in being part of this program please email international@mtroyal.ca

International Kitchen 

• Once a month, MRU students from around the world gather to cook and share a meal together - each month a new student volunteer hosts a recipe and evening of cooking and celebration as inspired by their culture. 

• This program is a partnership between International Education, Residence, and Wellness Services
