Importantly, one of the primary goals of this site is to match interested students with faculty conducting research. Students interested in research will be directed here to learn about potential research opportunities. Faculty, please email Eva Gonzalez with research assistant postings to be uploaded to the site. Research and Scholarship Days

Research is about breaking boundaries, testing the limits of knowledge, applying expertise for a greater good, and changing the world around us for the better. Change. Research is inherently connected to change, as a researcher shapes the future through their work. Every researcher is a Changemaker, and as a Changemaker campus, Mount Royal is dedicated to celebrating research excellence and how our students and faculty contribute. Click here for more info.

New Funding Opportunity - Summer Research Studentship (SRS) Program
Faculty Supervisor Applications Deadline: Fri., Feb. 16, 2024
For additional assistance with a research project this summer, apply for the Alberta Innovates Summer Research Studentship Program. This program provides experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate students interested in emerging health-related technologies, research and innovation (R&I) during the summer months (May - August). Priority areas include Digital or Data Driven Health Research; Commercialization; and Health System Transformation. Additional program information will be available by the end of January, through the newly formed Centre for Health and Innovation in Aging at MRU. For more information contact Jocelyn Rempel at jlrempel@mtroyal.ca
HREB Applications
Here is the link to the HREB website with all of the information you require for your ethics application. If you would like assistance with your application, please do not hesitate to contact Maggie Quance.
Please ensure you allow ample time for review, as the process is expected to take one month minimum. Your project will undergo initial review followed by a delegated review (minimal risk). At that point there will likely be changes you need to address and a resubmission and final review. The process described is the quickest and most straight forward. It will take longer for a more complicated project, full board review, or poorly done application.
Are you working with colleagues at an external University that has ethics clearance? Please note that you will still need to submit ethics to MRU HREB. See TCPS 2 multi-jurisdictional research for more information.
