Olivia Toomey, a junior double majoring in Politics and Sociology, is deeply interested in electoral politics and voting rights. She focuses on how electoral systems function and how they can be improved for broader and more accurate representation. She completed the MHC Semester in D.C. Program during the Fall 2024 semester. Olivia has received professional training from Emerge Vermont to empower women to run for office and has managed multiple state legislature campaigns. She has worked with the Weissman Center for Leadership as a Leadership and Public Service Fellow for the past year. Currently, she serves as the Youth Representative for Vermont’s Chittenden County Democratic Committee and participates in her hometown’s democratic committee work. Outside of class, Olivia enjoys singing and performing with the Victory Eights a cappella group.
