Liliana (they/them/theirs) is a junior majoring in International Relations with minors in Italian and Classical Studies. On campus, they are a Presidential Ambassador, a Leadership and Public Service Fellow at the Weissman Center for Leadership, a Research Assistant for English Professor Amy Martin, and a contributing writer for Mount Holyoke News. Additionally, in December of 2024, they served as a panelist for "Trans Healthcare is a Human Right: On Safeguarding Gender-Affirming Care after US v. Skrmetti" alongside President Holley and notable alumni working in trans advocacy. They are passionate about international political economy, imperialism and inequality, LGBTQ+ human rights, and constitutional law.
Outside of MHC, they have completed a notable independent research project investigating how targeted sanctions impact income inequality worldwide. They have also worked as a research intern for the Campaign for Southern Equality, where they spent a summer delving into the origins and ideologies of the anti-trans movement. After they graduate, they hope to pursue international economic research, law, or advocacy – or a mix of all three!
