Hening Sun is a double major student in Sociology and Psychology. She had extensive research experience in AI, education, and the public policy industry while interning at Senator's office and Lenovo. As a public forum debater, Hening enjoys researching different topics to broaden her horizon. In her leisure time, she likes dancing and traveling.
Sonya is an emerging environmental policy analyst, environmental educator, climate justice activist, and political ecologist. Hailing from Colorado and Wyoming, she is a senior at Mount Holyoke College majoring in Environmental Studies, minoring in Economics, and pursuing a Nexus in Law, Public Policy, and Human Rights. Sonya aims to create an inclusive, equitable community at Mount Holyoke through her ongoing work as a MoZone Peer Educator, SAW Mentor, and student leader. She is excited to draw on her on-campus student leadership experience and passion for public service while participating in the MHC Semester in D.C. program.
Lasya Priya Rao Jarugumilli ‘23 is a rising senior, self-designing a major in Social Thought and Political Economy, and pursuing a Nexus in Law, Public Policy, and Human Rights. An international student from Mysore, India, Lasya has been involved with Mount Holyoke's Student Government Association (serving as president for the 2021-22 academic year), InterFaith Community, Peer Social Justice Education Program, and Office of Admissions. Lasya is passionate about InterGroup Dialogue and is always looking for opportunities to learn more about anti-oppressive facilitation.
My name is Megan Horner and I am a Senior at Mount Holyoke College. I am an international relations major and a politics minor, from Southern Illinois, and an avid reader, painter, and writer. At Mount Holyoke, I have been a part of student government since my first year and am a member of Planned Parenthood Generation Action. I have held internships with Power in Place, the Peace Development Fund, and the German Marshall Fund. I am so excited to be a part of the Washington Semester Program and look forward to living and working in DC!
Klara Grygo is a senior with a double major in Politics and Psychology as well as a Nexus in Law, Public Policy, and Human Rights. She has been involved on campus as the founder and president of the Mount Holyoke College Mock Trial Team and the president of the Model United Nations organization. She is also a liaison for the Politics Department at Mount Holyoke. Klara is passionate about public service, justice, and law. In the past, she has interned at AG Law, working on a project evaluating the effectiveness of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Immigrant Trust Directive. Klara is also excited to intern for the Attorney General of D.C this fall. Klara is so glad to be in the Semester in D.C program to further delve into her interests, expand her horizons, and work hands-on in the areas she is passionate about.
