Starry Night
Starry Night
Image #1: I began with a detailed and drafted sketch of what my card would look like. I took inspiration from Van Gogh's Starry Night as I saw it in person during the winter break for the first time. I wanted to make it come to life by illuminating the stars and moon by incorporating LED lights underneath.
Image #2: I planned to sketch the outline first to understand where I would put the LED bulbs underneath. I marked positions with deep pen indents or dots that are faintly seen in the image (on the top left star, middle star, and moon on the top right)
Image #3: Final depiction of Starry Night, crafted with the use of pens, markers, and highlighters.
Image #4: A sketched design for copper tape placement, LED polarity (+/-), and positioning for LED lights. The top of the card is for negative polarity and the bottom of the card is focused on positive polarity.
Image #5: Installed copper tape and LED lights based on the original design.
Image #6: Refined and finalized my design for the copper tape to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality.
Image #7: Finished product without human interaction.
Image #8: Finished product with human interaction, the stars and the moon light up! The picture was taken under low-light conditions to clearly showcase the illumination.
